A Little History

Nine 12 Records was established in February 2004 in Newbury Park, California. With the release of former Peak Show / Mother Tongue member, Front Row's Past Tense in October 2004, the journey began. Past Tense acted as a precursor to Front Row's full length album, Fool On The Shill, which was released in January 2005.

Nine 12 Records then worked with Los Angeles based experimental rock band, Silence Is Treason to release their debut record (June 2005), just before sending the band to play a guerilla set at the Coachella Valley Music Festival. The release was shortly followed by a stint on the Vans Warped Tour - with appearences in California, Utah, and Colorado.

Since 2006, Nine 12 Records has branched off the traditional label route, managing and cooridnated national tours for Los Angeles experimental rock band, Sputnik Monroe. In 2007, Nine 12 Records worked with Legs on Sale on the band's west coast tour up the coast of California. Diversifying even further - released classical pianist, Dorothy Schechter's Edvard Grieg Favorites in November 2007.

In 2008, Nine 12 Records began working with several more bands - Death is not a Joyride (June 2008), The Pleasures of Merely Circulating (April 2008), The Ignorant (August - September 08/ November 2008 / March 09).

The latest Nine 12 release with Killradio, called Good Americans, was released in September 2008. In November 2008, Nine 12 Records started managing Black Party Politics and working with New Jersey based Fun Machine and New York's Werewolves (both BNS Sessions bands) on their southwest tour for March 2009, as well as San Francisco's Maldroid and Los Angeles based Woven.

Recently working with The Color Turning on their August 2009 tour. Currently booking The Frail's sxsw tour 2010.
